Essex Fashion Week - Part 2 - Masato, Kiran Khan and Joey Bevan / Pointed Brown Shoes

So this time last week I was living it up - drinking Coke - at Essex Fashion Week. I'd set out to check out what this thing called Essex Fashion Week - 3 days -.in a tent -marquee - at Fairlop Waters was. Against my apprehensions I wasn't the only ultra pale girl in the room....on the other hand it wasn't a totally slick affair either, with technical difficulties halting acts and the huge space feeling rather empty by the afternoon.

Those that left early definitely missed the best bits for my money, Masato Jones, Kiran Khan and Joey Bevan's PoInTeD bRoWn ShOeS

So first up Masato Jones, currently working as a pattern cutter for the likes of Giles Deacon and Kate Halfpenny, check out Masato's blog for more info.

My pics didn't come out for this one, my favourite- particularly for the shaping on the back for which I can't find a decent pic.

Kiran Khan, was apparently a fairly late addition to the line up. I asked EFW and Fourteen inc for more information including contact details to include in the post, but received no reply. I love these clothes, with the use of pastel pinks and greens, sometimes contrasted with black rather than the usual bright colours. Which seen in this context gave a feel of Asian design meets Edwardian / Victorian Elegance.

For a totally different vibe, check out the designs looking equally gorgeous here an here at the London Asiana Bridal Show 2010 and here at London Asiana Bridal Show 2011

Finally - well not finally really because the show ended with a bunch of over groomed dogs - but finally from me, Joey Bevan of PoInTeD bRoWn ShOeS. Fresh from the Ideal Home Show a booking which apparently cost him a place at London Fashion Week.  An Essex boy who has taken recycling to his heart. All designs are created from recycled clothing and reused items. Interviewed on stage he told how he asks people to give clothes to him rather than a charity shop so that he can change a £3 selling price into a possible £30+ percentage donation.

Guttingly my card ran out of space before the last floaty black creation that was right up my street!

He also showed a second collection more along the reused theme, with lots of plastic involved:

You can also check out a ton of pics at the Facebook page of Wonderful Hair Extensions one of  EFW's sponsors.

  1. Love the first collection, especially the long brown dress with the patterned top!

  2. My sister ordered her wedding outfits from Kiran Khan. To her disappointment they were incomplete, lacked the quality of finish we were shown and were over 6 months late. Upon persistently calling to chase up the orders you would only get a return text message and another feeble excuse. She has no issue with taking your deposit money in advance yet is unable to deliver the goods on time or to the quality you were trapped into believing you'd receive.

(Another unsatisfied customer, from a long list as it seems!)

  3. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON KIRAN KHAN!

SHE CANNOT DELIVER ON TIME, ON THE QUOTED PRICE OR TO THE QUALITY AS HER SAMPLES.

VERY RUDE TO DEAL WITH AND A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
