I 've been in TK Maxx many times, but never seen any beauty products that took my attention, so I was very excited to find 2 long term wants there today.
Mostly what I've been looking for in there is Philosophy. I've known a few people pick up Purity in there, but I've always found zilch until today. I spotted the Present with a label stuck over it's name - but I'd know that branding anywhere. I've bought a good number of Philosophy skincare TSV's from QVC and love many of their products including The Supernatural Poreless, Flawless, but I've never quite got round to trying The Present. It's only a half size tube but not at all bad for £6.
HissyFit Saving Face has been on my horizon since last year. The idea of a hard working spf 50+ foundation really appeals to me. Especially since I have a few products to try that will absolutely require an spf used over them. The trouble is Hissyfit don't do samples. I've emailed and tweeted but no one's listening. Just Beauty Direct have asked too. Just how many people are happy to buy a £20 foundation that as far as I'm aware, is only available online in this countr,y without a decent colour match sample? They had one nude the lightest colour I've seen on sale in the UK and a few darker shades. Irritatingly this was the one colour that had been opened and had the seal pulled half back. But the lid was clean inside, so I wasn't going to be put off a chance to try this for a fiver and happily got an extra pound off as it was open too. I still suspect that it could be a tad too yellow for me but we'll see. Hissyfit's own site shows quite a few extra colours available in the US.
I've never heard of Hair by Monica Olsen and indeed so far have been unable to find the brand on sale in this country at all. But £10 for 120ml of pure Argan Oil is a pretty good deal, so I was up for giving it a go.
I'll keep you updated on how I find these products. Do you have any favourite TK Maxx beauty bargains?

Ooh I love Hissyfit! I used to sell it back home and the rep was nice enough to give me a free of Saving Face. Nude is light enough for me and I'm lighter than a MAC NC/NW15. From memory I don't think it's particularly yellow, I have netural undertones and it works quite well. Their body moisturiser is awesome too, it's smells fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to take a look in my local TK Maxx and see if they've got Hissyfit too.
@Kat - Oh that sounds hopeful the light was gone by the time I got in, looking forward to checking it out tomorrow. x
ReplyDeleteI got a great little haul last week at TK Maxx with c.Booth skincare which isn't sold in the UK so I was quite excited about finding it.
ReplyDeleteIf I ever see any Philosophy bits at my Maxx I'll let you know x
I got some Weleda moisturizers from TK Maxx for half the price :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I am going to have a trawl round TKMaxx in Huddersfield later today now to see what I can find! looking forward to the Hissyfit review. xx
ReplyDeletehissy fit is available in debenhams oxford street and John Bell & croyden behind oxford street, you can ask a lady called June to help you, and say that I (Sophia) recommended you to her.. she's a great lady and Debenhams have testers of the foundation out, so if you're further interested about the products, there's a great hands on way =)

Hi! Yes I've used it a number of times on my hair leavening it in for an hour or so....not recently though...must do it again! If you have the same one, then I'm sure it is Pure as it says, I checked out the website - it's a brand mainly sold in the states!
DeleteHi! thanks for reply...i have exactly the same, i have used it twice and i must say i can feel the difference already :D was just too scared to use it coz i found on website that skin by monica olsen is the worst rated company :(
