FrontCover Colour Collection - Review and Swatches

Tomorrow sees the launch of FrontCover's Colour Collection in Boots. For the first time, FrontCover's much loved eyeshadows will be sold individually. 25 of the most popular colours from recent palettes, have been chosen to get the ball rolling. Taking over from the AW10 FrontCover To Go palette FrontCover have set out to provide a system where you never have to buy a colour you don't like again.

Empty Compacts will cost £5:

Individual Shadows £4:

Or you can buy a set of 4 shadows and a Compact for £15!

And it's not a case of when they're in they're in, shadows can be popped back out to add a different colour later.

Also available, will be the fabulous Shadowline: £8 and Shadowbase: £8. I love Shadowline, it turns any shadow or pigment into an eyeliner. It's simple to use and means you don't have to hunt around for a matching liner colour. Which is especially good if you're less than confident with a liner. Providing that extra depth of colour on the lash line, whilst not standing out too much from the shadow colour. Shadowbase is one I have yet to try, but it's been on my hitlist since it's release in one of the AW10 collections. However I have it on good authority from MUA @nadiramakeup that this is a fab product and one I'm itching to get my hands on.

Back to the shadows:

In case you are not familiar with them, this is what FrontCover say:

Frontcover is famous for its baked powders; the formulation is finely tuned to achieve an opulent silky taffeta like finish. An added special effects pigment creates a pearlescent look and NYLON-12 imparts creamy textural feel on the skin. This collection of eyeshadows also features new twinkle baked powder eyeshadows in rich colours to bring the lustrous base and reflective glitter to life – the glitter is dispersed right through the powder cake, not just sprayed on top.

I've tried to provide a reference point for the colours by swatching the colours I have available. They originally appeared in Rainbow Eyes RE, Mermaid Dreams MD, FrontCover To Go GO. The ones I don't have come from Eye Spy ES and Desk to Date DD.

I couldn't find any swatches for Desk to Date (1), but you can find Eye Spy (4) here and here

I have my eye on Bluebell and Bougainvillea in particular and there are a couple of loose Mermaid Dreams colours I wouldn't mind getting my hands on too!

Colours are swatched using shadows from original palettes

  2. omg omg omg omg how exciting is that. finally a brand who understands the needs and purses of people and who are not trying at any costs to bung you a palette with colours you don't need. This might be destiny, this might the reason why I couldnt get my hands on the mermaid palette cos this concept is much more exciting. thumbs up to front cover and big thank you for this amazing news and swatches :) xx
