I love me some oil, it's what led me to Melvita in the first place. So I was delighted to be invited to find out about their latest release, Quintessential Oils:
Melvita have a huge range of beautiful pure oils from around the world:
I have a couple, Nigella and Camellia but these new blends are a whole lot more sophisticated. Harnessing the latest knowledge of oil nutrients and constituents, these newly formulated oils are 100% natural oil blends that deliver noticeable results.
At £28 for 30ml compared to under £20 for 50ml they are a whole lot more expensive too. So what extra are Melvita bringing to the table here. There are 3 blends:
Re-balancing Care for Combination Skin - The light texture of this intensive facial treatment encourages the skin to ‘breathe’ - naturally resulting in fresher, smoother looking skin. Melvita Quintessential Oil Re-Balancing Care is especially designed for normal or combination skin, purifying and invigorating Cistus, Mandarin Orange, Lavender, Palmarosa and Benzoin essential oils, and nurturing Apricot Kernel, Nigella and Tamanu plant oils regenerate and re-balance skin.
and
Soothing Care for Sensitive Skin - With its light texture, this intensive facial treatment comforts the skin and enhances radiance. A unique complex called SymRelief which is extracted from Ginger and Candeia instantly calms the skin and blends with regenerating and softening Geranium, Chamomile, Sandalwood, Yarrow and Frankincense essential oils. The nourishing and protective base of soothing Sesame, Rosehip and Pomegranate plant oils, all work together to soften and soothe even the most sensitive skin.
The last, is the oil I received to try out:
I've been getting great rebalancing results with the Nigella Oil, but the pump mechanism is quite basic and it's easy to dispense far too much oil. These new oils have a glass dropper similar to other oils I've used, here there is also a button on the cap rather than a rubber teat, to dispense just the right amount.
In keeping with Melvita's high Ecological standard, massage technique instructions for the oil bend are printed on the inside of the box not on an extra piece of paper. One corner is perforated to allow easy opening.
I think this idea is fabulous and it should be more widely used by companies.
My husband loved the smell of this oil, which is great news because some oils I've tried get quite a rude response. I've enjoyed using it, it's light and easily absorbed, but I haven't found the results startling. I'm fairly sure this has more to do with my skins needs than the oil though. As it wasn't really in need of soothing at the time of testing.
Melvita are a fabulous Organic Brand with strong Ethics and I'd highly recommend checking them out.
Soothing Care was received in a goodybag at a PR event - Camellia Oil was sent for review purposes - Nigella Oil I bought myself.
