I think the Nutri Beauty site has actually been up and running since earlier this year, but this provided a great opportunity to hear first hand from some of the maybe less well known brands they have available.
So I met the lovely Clare Harvey who developed Spirit of Beauty to aid women in feeling good about themselves inside and out. Much of Clare's knowledge of Flower Essences has been passed down through her family as she was trained by her grandmother, who was in turn taught by Dr Edward Bach and Nora Weeks. Not only do her products feel and smell beautiful but she's also patented one of them because of it's strong mood enhancing ability which makes it extremely effective at reducing stress.
Particularly liked the look -smell and feel - of the Orchid and Mandarin Facial Cleansing Gel:
Meeting Deborah Mitchell creator of Heaven Skincare was a real pleasure and I had my first encounter with the Bee Venom Mask - rumoured to be the source of the Dutches of Cornwall's disappearing wrinkles (err did I just link to the Daily Mail - eeek). An odd feeling, but not unpleasant - more on that in another blog post I think. Deborah also has a new SOS Oil out which is a complete skincare regime in a bottle - apparently able to turn even the cheapest moisturiser into something really special with just a drop. I couldn't find it on the Nutri Beauty website when I looked but I'm sure it will be there before too long. The quality presentation boxes that her products come in, with a simple h logo really appealed too.
Suti too, have some seriously beautiful oils - I found this chat a little more unusual because I'm really not one for homeopathy and crystals - I do however appreciate beautifully put together products and oils and these smelt and felt very special. With the tag line 'Feed your Skin' - Suzannah Jenkins and Tina Steadman the two halves of Suti came together with the mutual desire to use wholly natural skincare products on themselves and their families and create a range that was pure, nourishing and good enough to eat. Cost wise this would be a tricky one for me to be honest, whilst I'll pay extra for ethically and organically sourced products, I wouldn't pay extra for the rose water being picked at certain times of the month without a scientific reason for the value in doing this. However looking at the prices I think they are mostly what I'd expect for good organic products.
Other brands to look out for at Nutri Beauty include: Alva, Naturtint, Viridian and Sappho Organic cosmetics who's lightest liquid foundation really did seem to match my skin. I actually spent so long chatting to these lovely people, that I unfortunately missed out on meeting some of the brands. The ones I did meet however, more than demonstrated that Nutri Beauty have picked some real corkers.
