FOTD 15/10/11 - Illamasqua Eye Liner Cake - Mislead

A bit of a dressing up last weekend caused me to reach for my Illamasqua Eyeliner Cake - I wanted something vaguely Egyptian esk and this was the result. Way back at the beginning of blogging I opted out of flash pics of my self - they're aging and much more difficult to get in focus, but hey this look reminded me just how much I love this stuff. If you've been around for a while, you will have seen me use it on more than one occasion at Illamasqua but I've some how steered clear of using it on myself even though I bought it well over a year ago. I've really noticed the changes in my skin and eye shape over the last year and harsh lines aren't on the whole as flattering as they once could have been. I also know I fail at the level of symmetry I would like to be able to achieve when working on myself......OK I've been running scared!

Illamasqua's Eye Liner Cake can be mixed with water but is more budge resistant and longer lasting if you mix it with Sealing Gel. One or two drops at the most mixed with the cake and tested for consistency on the back of the hand. Another reason for my precise black liner fear has been drying time. I just can't keep my lids still enough to not to make a mess with gel liners - this however dries so quickly that I only had the tiniest amount of transfer to deal with.

And of course I couldn't post about Mislead without including the Master at Work:

  1. Wow it looks so dramatic and looks like it has a lovely sheeny finish. The one I used today was matt, so even less forgiving. I so hear you about harsh lines being less than flattering as we get older. I think the same about so many makeup looks - boo!

  2. @Nic - Whenever I'd tried a bold liner before I'd get it everywhere - transfer to my upper lid was a nightmare whilst it dries. I'm blown away every time I use this stuff. Horrid having to leave things behind isn't it. x
