Louise Gray for Topshop - Swatches

Having posted yesterday about the new Louise Gray for Topshop collaboration, I couldn't quite resist running into my local Topshop today, on the off chance they might have a few bits. Topshop Makeup has definitely grown in stature considerably since I last had a look in there! A full stand rather than the meager shelf when I last looked..... admittedly not long after the original relaunch. I'll be back in there soon for a better look, when I don't have a child in toe.

Today there was just chance for a quick swatch:

Louise Gray Topshop makeup collection swatches
Eye Palette in Blink - £12.50 - top
Cheek Duo in Up In The Air - £12.50 - middle
Lips in Legend and Mexican Wave - £10 each - bottom

I think that Mexican Wave is coming up a little to red in these pics.
The lighting is rain soaked and grey today.

Legend - Mexican Wave

Eye Palette in Blink

Cheek Duo in Up In The Air
Liquid Eye Liner in Intensify

My favourites are Intensify gorgeous metallic blue liner, Mexican Wave lipstick and Blink Shadow Palette. Up in the Air, the Cheek Duo felt a little too greasy in application for my liking, suggesting a very high silicone content. After much procrastination, I gave in and bought the Boots No7 cheek colours from the SS12 collection earlier this year - although I like the colours here, I much prefer the consistency of the No7 offering. What I do like about this collection though,  ifs that it works well together. The peach hue in Up in the Air works perfectly alongside the peach cheek colour and Mexican Wave. Whilst the pink cheek colour tones with Legend.  I bought the colours from No7 just as they were vanishing from the shelves so never got round to blogging them, but seriously there was no putting the pink lippie and blush together on my face. Both bright but so not working in harmony.

Very quick swatches in a crowded shop on nails that were lifting potatoes the day before :p

Junk Yardmixed size blue glitter
Hat Trick - lime green glitter
Dart - orange glitter
£6.50

one coat each

Me and blue glitter, I thought it would be love....but actually it's Hat Trick and Dart I'm wanting, for their intensity of colour and glitter coverage on just one coat. Pinch Punch a pink glitter that looks similar in make up to Junk Yard, has either sold out already or not come in yet. There were no testers for the Eye Cream Duo in Wave Machine.

A pretty collection, but is that blue really the one in Louise Gray's brows from the promo shots I posted yesterday? It didn't seem bright enough to me.....and I'd quite like to know which blue she's wearing there too.

What do you think of the collection? And am I being too harsh on the blushes?
