Friday 4 March 2011 - First Use - 1 minute with the Delicate brush (Purchased separately) - recommended 20s forehead - 20s nose and chin - 10s each cheek. I kept more to the jaw line for the cheek sections as my cheeks are prone to easy irritation. I used my usual face was REN CC3 and followed with REN Frankincense Revitalising Night Cream.
Saturday 5 March 2011 - REN CC3 and Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream - my face feels smooth and I keep touching it rather too often. By lunch time however my face is feeling really tight and dry, to the point that I apply a second application of the Oilatum before applying any makeup. London Makeup Girl recommended that I should probably only use the Clarisonic a couple of times a week and I can already see why. The other thing that occurs to me is that my skin is actually more dehydrated under the extra gunk that the Clarisonic cleans off, than I realised.
Sunday 6th March - I took some bare face pics today for later comparison, should have done it before but forgot. - Continuing to use combinations of my regular products - things my skin is used to eg Philosophy Hope in a Jar, Philosophy Great Mystery, Philosophy Purity, Akin Pure Alchemy Cellular Radiance Serum, Melvita Nigella Oil, REN CC3, Liz Earel Skin Tonic and Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream
Tuesday 8th March - Quite disappointed tonight as I have a couple of red sore patch on my cheeks, either side of my nose. After Sunday's use left me so dry, I thought I'd try the Nourishing Care Cleanser that comes with the Clarisonic kit. So was it the cleanser or the edge of the brush when it was aimed at my nose? Liz Earle Skin Tonic and Akin Pure Alchemy Cellular Radiance Serum used. I also added some Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream to the sore spots.
Wednesday 9th March - Face isn't sore but patches are visible am though faded by the evening. Will be handling the next use very carefully. Melvita's Quintessential Soothing Care Oil which I've recently reviewed came in handy tonight.
Sunday 13th March - Went back to using the REN CC3 with the Clarisonic tonight. Not wishing to risk the other cleanser. Really careful not to let the bristles catch my cheeks and only did the first 40 seconds forehead, nose, chin.
Tuesday 15th March - Nice crop of spots come up on my forehead. Hoping this is the clarisonic bringing out stuff that's been sitting there for an age - one of the reasons I wanted the thing in the first place - my bumpy forehead.
Thursday 17th March - The area that came up as a patch last week is peeling. Had to rub it off gently as it looked quite dreadful with makeup over it.
Wednesday 23rd March am- A couple more uses on the nose, chin and forehead only under my belt. Still using the REN CC3 but have found it necessary to step up the moisture levels after use. Where as an oil alone was fine before now I need a moisturiser on top on the days I've used the Clarisonic.
Wednesday 23rd March pm -Interesting conversation tonight with Fiona Brackenbury from Decleor - She suggested once a week with my skin! The Clarisonic is getting less like a cleansing method and more like a treatment for me. Definitely something that is not being considered enough by the manufacturers I feel. Certainly the sales guy I had a good long chat with at Pro Beauty gave no hint of this. I'm still happy to own it for such purposes, but I'd be seriously cross if I'd paid full price.
